San Francisco 49ers WR Deebo Samuel Darren Yamashita-USA TODAY Sports

The San Francisco 49ers appear to be a team to watch in the hours before the NFL Draft, with one report suggesting they are open to a huge move to try to trade up in the first round.

The 49ers are open to dealing either Brandon Aiyuk or Deebo Samuel to try and move up in the first round, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic. The 49ers have had talks with at least one team picking in the top 10 about parting with one of the star wide receivers to move up.

Aiyuk is the big name, as he is currently locked in a contract dispute with the 49ers. Trading him on short notice might be difficult, as his new team would presumably want to work out a deal upon acquiring him. Samuel is signed through 2025, but any team could cut him after 2024 to get significant cap savings.

The 49ers are not the only team trying hard to move up, though. Some franchises drafting higher in the first round could receive some massive offers to move down that might be difficult to refuse.
