Report: 49ers sign Robbie Gould to two-year, $7.25 million extension

At 38 years old, Robbie Gould's time in the NFL is winding down. However, he'll remain with the San Francisco 49ers for at least the next couple of years.

Gould signed a two-year, $7.25 million extension with the Niners on Wednesday that will keep him in San Francisco through 2022, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The money is fully guaranteed.

Gould is in the midst of his fourth season in San Francisco. His first two seasons with the club were solid, though the last two years have been tough for the veteran. In 2019, Gould hit just 74.2% of his field goals, which is a career-low. This season, he has hit 82.6% of his field goals, with his longest kick being 52 yards.

Before joining the 49ers, Gould spent time with the Chicago Bears and New York Giants. He went to college at Penn State.
