Report: 90 percent of NFL players vaccinated against COVID-19
Ninety percent of NFL players are now vaccinated against COVID-19, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported via Twitter on Tuesday.
The news comes roughly one week after the league announced that 85-percent of players had received at least one of their shots.
The NFL announced last month it will not extend the regular season past its original 18-week mark to accommodate makeup games postponed due to COVID outbreaks among unvaccinated players. Players are subject to fines for breaking the league's health and safety protocols.
Concerns involving the health and safety of the league continue to be hot topics after multiple players, including Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill and Bills wide receiver Cole Beasely, have used their platforms to speak out against vaccination rules, and some teams continue to have low vaccination rates.
As of Tuesday, the Minnesota Vikings have one of the lowest vaccination rates with just 70 percent of players receiving at least one of their shots.
