Report: Chiefs OT Eric Fisher to miss Super Bowl after tearing Achilles
The Kansas City Chiefs will take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV without one of their best offensive linemen.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Chiefs offensive tackle Eric Fisher will not play in the Super Bowl after tearing his Achilles against the Buffalo Bills in Sunday's AFC Championship Game.
Fisher was ruled out after going down while pass protecting in the fourth quarter. Mike Remmers moved from right tackle to left tackle after Fisher exited. Andrew Wylie moved to right tackle and Stefen Wisniewski moved to right guard.
Fisher played in 15 of 16 games during the regular season and has been a key piece of Kansas City's offensive unit since being selected first overall in 2013.
The Chiefs dealt with several injuries to their offensive line this season and still managed to own the NFL's best record. Kansas City lost Mitchell Schwartz and Kelechi Osmele for extended periods and was without Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, who opted out of the season in July.
