Report: Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes not 100%, suffering from turf toe

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes exited last weekend's divisional-round matchup against the Cleveland Browns with a concussion, but he also suffered another injury during the contest.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Mahomes has been diagnosed with turf toe. A foot specialist will evaluate the former MVP after the season to determine if he needs surgery.

Mahomes is set to start for the Chiefs during Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Buffalo Bills at Arrowhead Stadium.

According to Rapoport, running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire will be available on Sunday despite dealing with hip and ankle injuries. Le'Veon Bell isn't expected to play due to a knee injury, while Sammy Watkins is questionable with a calf injury.

Mahomes has a rare opportunity to lead the Chiefs back to the Super Bowl for the second consecutive season. If he and the Chiefs win the championship, they will become the first team since the New England Patriots in 2004 and 2005 — Super Bowls XXXVIII and XXXIX — to win back-to-back titles.
