Report: Colts not considering Julio Jones, could bring back T.Y. Hilton

The Indianapolis Colts added former MVP Matt Ryan as their newest starting quarterback for the 2022 season. They'll have the reigning rushing champion in Jonathan Taylor returning to lead the backfield and breakout 1,000-yard wideout Michael Pittman Jr. back to lead the wide receivers group this fall.

After that, on paper, the Colts offense could possibly leave a lot to be desired.

Zak Keefer of The Athletic reported Tuesday that second-year wide receiver Mike Strachan had knee surgery over the summer but is likely to return by the end of training camp. Keefer added an update on two prominent free agent wideout options with a combined 11 Pro Bowl selections, one of whom Indianapolis is very familiar with.

A third-round draft selection of the Colts in 2012, Hilton has spent his entire 10-year career with the franchise and is third on the team's all-time list in targets (1,076), receptions (631) and receiving yards (9,691), trailing only Hall-of-Famer Marvin Harrison and six-time Pro Bowler Reggie Wayne. Hilton will be 33 in November and was limited to a career-low 10 games during the 2021 regular season for the second time in three years, while producing career-lows across the board in targets (37), receptions (23), receiving yards (331) and receiving touchdowns (three).

A seven-time Pro Bowler and two-time First-Team All-Pro with the Atlanta Falcons from 2011 to 2020, Jones was traded to the Tennessee Titans in June 2021. In 10 games last season, he recorded career-lows in targets (48), receptions (31), receiving yards (434) and receiving touchdowns (one).
