Report: Commanders' Dan Snyder claims to have 'dirt' on other owners, Roger Goodell

A bombshell report from ESPN details Washington Commanders owner Dan Snyder's efforts to unearth "enough secrets to blow up" several NFL owners, the league office and even commissioner Roger Goodell.

Between congressional hearings, allegations of workplace misconduct and sexual assault allegations, many people wonder how Snyder has control over an NFL franchise. In the past decade, for example, the NBA forced one owner to sell his team (Donald Sterling of the Clippers), and another owner's yearlong suspension resulted in him deciding to put his team on the market (Robert Sarver of the Suns).

It has left many to wonder why the NFL, with its vast resources, hasn't made a concerted to oust the embattled owner.

Thursday's report unveils some of the reasoning as to why Goodell and high-ranking league officials may be hesitant to go full throttle in removing Snyder.

"He never says exactly what he knows, only that in 23 years ... he knows a lot," the report says.

As ugly as things are for Washington on the field, their owner appears hellbent on ensuring things are even uglier off of it.

The Commanders are 1-4, losing four in a row and already four games behind first-place Philadelphia in the NFC East.

Many fans and other owners are waiting for the day Snyder sells the Commanders. According to Thursday's report, if and when that day comes, Snyder will go down kicking and screaming.

The NFL is a mafia," Snyder told an associate, per the report.  "All the owners hate each other."

"That's not true," one veteran owner says. "All the owners hate Dan."
