The Dallas Cowboys are reportedly interested in trading for a pass rusher on the Philadelphia Eagles roster this offseason. The potential move comes in an offseason where star EDGE Micah Parsons has been critical of the Cowboys’ pieces on defense.

Micah Parsons wants help rushing the passer

Parsons says he wants the defense to add depth at the linebacker position and on the defensive line. He wants interior defensive line help. But the main point of Parsons’ comments is that he needs help putting pressure on the opposing offensive line.

The Dallas Cowboys are interested in trading for an Edge

Per Mike Fisher with Sports Illustrated, the Cowboys have an interest in trading for veteran pass rusher Haason Reddick:

“An NFL source tells CowboysSI.com that the idea of the Dallas Cowboys investigating ways to acquire Reddick is real, too.

The Cowboys have “respect” for Reddick as well, which is why our source mentions Dallas and Jacksonville as among the teams that are “interested” in making a move. (There are rumors mentioning Detroit, Houston and New England here, but we have not confirmed.)”

Trading for Haason Reddick isn’t cheap

The Eagles recently gave permission for Reddick to seek a trade. The Eagles are doing so, hoping to alleviate issues with their cap situation, and Reddick wants an extension. Cap concerns are also present in Dallas.

The Cowboys’ defensive pass rush would be much better with Reddick on the other side of Parsons. But Reddick’s cost might not be worth the bite for Dallas either, especially with Parsons playing in the final year of his rookie deal. The Cowboys will have to fork over a ton of cap to him not too long after handing a bag to Dak Prescott.

Regardless, there is a reason the Cowboys are at least interested in exploring the trade.
