Report: Former WFT QB Dwayne Haskins set to meet with Panthers

The Washington Football Team released Ohio State product Dwayne Haskins last month after multiple COVID-19 violations, which saw him fined and stripped of his captaincy, and subpar play. Less than one month later, the former 15th overall pick is set to meet with a new franchise.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Haskins will visit with the Carolina Panthers on Monday. The franchise has some major questions at quarterback after Matt Rhule pulled Teddy Bridgewater from the team's season finale against the New Orleans Saints last weekend.

Rhule admitted that Bridgewater would need to have a "tremendous offseason" to provide himself with some job security in 2021.

The Panthers own the eighth overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Some prized quarterbacks will likely be gone by the time the Panthers are on the clock, meaning Haskins could be one of the team's best options this offseason.

In two seasons with Washington, Haskins appeared in 16 games, going 3-10 while completing 60.1% of his passes for 2,804 yards and two touchdowns against 14 interceptions.

The coaching staff in Washington didn't necessarily believe in Haskins, so it's imperative he signs with a franchise that is willing to work with him to help him improve.
