Report: Jaguars 'expected' to sign Tim Tebow to one-year deal as TE

Reset those Tebow Time clocks. The former NFL quarterback who turns 34 years old in August is back.

NFL Media's Ian Rapoport explained Monday afternoon that the Jacksonville Jaguars are expected to sign Tebow to a one-year contract at some point over the next week or so. He will have an opportunity to make the club as a tight end and will reunite with head coach Urban Meyer, who he played under at the University of Florida:

Reports first surfaced during the NFL Draft that Tebow had worked out with Jacksonville, and Jaguars chief football strategy officer Tony Khan, the son of franchise owner Shad Khan, told Bleacher Report last week: "Urban really believes (Tebow) can help us, and I think it makes a lot of sense. And it’s a position where we need to get better."

Tebow hasn't appeared in a regular-season NFL game since 2012 and previously refused to change positions and even pursued a career in pro baseball until he retired from that venture earlier this year. It's believed Meyer will use Tebow similar to how the New Orleans Saints utilize Taysom Hill at quarterback and other offensive positions.
