The Jacksonville Jaguars are reportedly set to waive defensive lineman Henry Mondeaux.

According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, the Jaguars are releasing Mondeaux from the injured reserve with an injury settlement.

Mondeaux, who was signed this offseason, was placed on injured reserve following the Jaguars' first preseason game vs. the Dallas Cowboys.

Mondeaux originally signed with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Oregon in 2018. He also has played for the Chiefs, Steelers and the Giants.

Mondeaux appeared in 11 games for the Giants last year, starting four. He recorded 16 tackles and one tackle for loss.

Mondeaux opened up training camp as the Jaguars' potential backup nose tackle behind Foley Fatukasi, but it now looks like that job will go to Jeremiah Ledbetter. Ledbetter has played nose tackle in practice this week with Fatukasi being held out of practice and could also be an option to start at defensive end in the event DaVon Hamilton misses any games with his undisclosed non-football-related medical issue.

“Obviously, Jeremiah Ledbetter and Adam Gotsis are two guys that we have as role players and as backup guys. I think Tyler Lacy is another one that has really emerged. He played well in the game, he continues to get better right there. We got a couple of guys that are on the roster that can give us some really good time in DaVon’s absence, however long that’s going to be. But those guys played well, played consistent down the line. Raymond [Vohasek] did some nice things there late in the game, but I think Ledbetter and Gotsis, the combination of those two and possibly Tyler Lacy is a good combination to fill in.”
