Four-year veteran offensive lineman Kevin Dotson signed a new contract with the Los Angeles Rams. Dotson, a former fourth-round pick, spent the 2023 season with the Los Angeles Rams but has also played for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Dotson spent the majority of the offseason with the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, on August 27th, the Steelers traded the homegrown talent to the Los Angeles Rams. The trade was effectively just a pick swap, as Pittsburgh sent Dotson, a 2024 fifth-round pick, and a 2025 sixth-round pick to the Rams in exchange for a 2024 fourth-round pick and a 2025 fifth-round pick.

This trade worked out for the Rams, as Kevin Dotson had a strong season during the final year of his contract. The change of scenery brought out the best in Dotson, as he started in 14 games while recording the second-best PFF grade among 79 eligible guards. Just like Dotson, the Rams also exceeded expectations, going 10-7 and making it to the playoffs. However, they fell just short against Matthew Stafford’s old team, the Detroit Lions.

Kevin Dotson originally entered the league as a fourth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Louisiana product spent most of his rookie season riding the bench. Appearing in 13 games while making four starts, the rookie finished his inaugural campaign with a 66.2 PFF grade, the 28th-best mark out of 80 eligible players.

Dotson built on this promising rookie campaign to secure a starting job in 2021. While he held on to the job early in the season, an ankle injury sidelined him after just nine games. The Louisiana product returned to the field in 2022, starting in all 17 games while recording a 65.4 PFF grade, the 30th-best mark out of 77 players.

Since signing his rookie contract, Kevin Dotson has appeared in 53 games while making 44 starts. He had yet to make a Pro Bowl, but played at a Pro Bowl level in 2023.
