Report: Lions expected to sign former Pro Bowl WR DJ Chark to one-year, $10 million deal
The Detroit Lions joined the NFL free-agent frenzy on Tuesday morning, as they've reportedly made their biggest splash of the young offseason.
Chark is coming off of an injury-plagued 2021 campaign that saw him suffer a season-ending ankle injury in Week 4. Through his four games last season, Chark recorded seven receptions for 154 yards and two touchdowns on 22 targets.
After debuting in 2018 with 14 catches for 174 scoreless yards in 11 contests, the former second-round pick produced his best numbers in 2019. During that season, Chark registered career highs in targets (118), receptions (73), receiving yards (1,008), receiving touchdowns (eight) and catch percentage (61.9%), among other categories.
Chark earned his lone Pro Bowl honor in 2019 and led the Jacksonville Jaguars in targets, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. In 2020, the 25-year-old regressed slightly, but he still put up 53 receptions for 706 receiving yards and five touchdowns on 93 targets in 13 games.
