Former Washington cornerback DeAngelo Hall is stepping away from calling Commanders games on the radio after two seasons, according to 106.7 the Fan.

The decision to step down was Hall’s. He’ll be replaced by another popular former Washington player. London Fletcher will step in as the color commentator for game day broadcasts.

DeAngelo Hall joined play-by-play announcer Bram Weinstein and analyst Julie Donaldson Washington broadcast as part of a complete overhaul in August 2020 to the radio booth.

The remake of the broadcast crew occurred after longtime play-by-play announcer Larry Michael stepped down a day before he was named in a Washington Post report involving numerous allegations of sexual harassment within the Washington organization.

Hall played the final 10 seasons of his career with Washington. Then he embarked on a career with media, including an analyst role with NFL Network.

London Fletcher also finished his NFL career in Washington, playing his final seven seasons there. He became a fan favorite in Washington. And truth be told, the Commanders have searched for his replacement at Mike linebacker since his retirement in 2013.

Fletcher is a Super Bowl champion, winning in 1999 with the St. Louis Rams. He is also a four-time Pro Bowler, all with Washington. He was named a second-team All-Pro twice while playing in the Burgundy and Gold.

The Commanders inducted Fletcher into their Ring of Fame in 2019. He has media experience, that includes him as an analyst with CBS Sports Network.
