The Los Angeles Chargers have made some notable moves this offseason. One of those moves included trading WR Keenan Allen to the Chicago Bears. On top of this, they also lost WR Mike Williams to free agency.

Now, the Chargers have some gaps to fill. The latest report hints that the Chargers are getting closer to doing just that. Read below to find out who it is and what the chances of this happening are.

Los Angeles Chargers Reportedly Meet With DJ Chark

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Los Angeles Chargers invited Chark for a facility visit yesterday afternoon. It hints that the Chargers are serious about signing Chark. If they successfully sign him, it can get Los Angeles one step closer to fixing their current wide receiver issue.

DJ Chark’s Career Stats

Chark has been in the NFL for six years. However, he has bounced around the league for the last three years. Chark spent his first four seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Then, he spent the last two years with the Detroit Lions and Carolina Panthers respectively.

So, what has Chark done throughout his career? He has 212 receptions and 3,069 receiving yards in his career. On top of this, Clark has 23 touchdown receptions.

Possible Contract?

Chark was selected with the 61st overall pick in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft. As a result, Chark’s rookie contract was rather modest. At that time, he received a contract that was worth $4.4 million over four years.

After that, Chark became a free agent. He received a 1-year contract for $10 million from the Lions. The next season, he received a 1-year contract for $5 million.

A big reason why Chark only received half of the money in 2023 is because he only played four games in 2022. So, it is safe to say that Chark should receive at least $5 million from any team that signs him.

Drafting a Wide Receiver

Another thing the Chargers may consider doing is drafting a wide receiver. This is because they currently hold the fifth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. There are several good options to select at the top of the draft.

So, who could the Chargers take? For starters, there is Marvin Harrison Jr. from Ohio State. Another alternative could be to select Malik Nabers from LSU. Regardless, there are good options on the board to either draft or sign a wide receiver for Los Angeles.
