According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, the New York Jets and Tyrod Taylor have struck a deal for him to be the team’s backup quarterback. Aaron Rodgers is still recovering from his Achilles injury but is expected to be ready for the 2024 season.

But if there is another setback or injury to Rodgers, last year proved the Jets need to be ready. Taylor provides a bit of experience options from last season did not have.

“The #Jets made clear after last season they wanted to add an experienced backup QB,” Pelissero said via X. “They get one in Tyrod Taylor, who has 58 career starts, including five last season for the #Giants.”
