Report: Packers releasing WR Jake Kumerow 'drove [Aaron] Rodgers nuts'

More details about Aaron Rodgers' unhappiness with the Green Bay Packers continue to emerge.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the reigning MVP isn't happy with the team's recent choices and wants to be more involved in personnel decisions.

One specific situation that didn't sit well with Rodgers is when the Packers decided to release wide receiver Jake Kumerow last September, just one day after the veteran quarterback praised the pass catcher. The release reportedly "drove Rodgers nuts."

Rodgers also wants the Packers to commit to him with a new contract. He was reportedly frustrated when the franchise selected Jordan Love in last year's draft and doesn't want to return unless general manager Brian Gutekunst is fired.

Packers president Mark Murphy confirmed the rift between the two sides and expressed optimism that the relationship can be repaired.

Although Green Bay has no plans to trade Rodgers, he could force his way out. The nine-time Pro Bowler's preferred trade destinations are reportedly the San Francisco 49ers, Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders. However, the 49ers likely won't continue their pursuit of Rodgers after drafting Trey Lance third overall.

With San Francisco potentially out of the equation, Rodgers is reportedly intrigued by the Raiders as a potential landing spot.
