Report: Patriots activating RB Sony Michel from injured reserve

The New England Patriots might finally have their starting running back for this weekend's matchup against the Houston Texans.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, New England is activating Sony Michel from injured reserve.

Michel hasn't played since Week 3 against the Las Vegas Raiders. He has been dealing with a quad injury.

The 25-year-old has 26 carries on the season for 173 yards and one touchdown. It's unclear if he'll take over starting running back duties in his first game back from injury. Damien Harris has been very good for the Patriots lately, and it might be best for New England to let him keep grinding.

Michel is in his third season with the Patriots and coming off a 1,000-yard year last season. He totaled 1,006 yards from scrimmage in 2019 with seven touchdowns.
