Report: Rams, three-time Pro Bowl WR DeSean Jackson mutually seeking trade partner

A three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver with five 1,000-yard receiving seasons to his credit is seemingly very much up for grabs, as the 2021 NFL trade deadline is just four days away.

Multiple reports on Friday afternoon indicated that the Los Angeles Rams and wideout DeSean Jackson are looking for a trade partner.

The 34-year-old is in his 14th NFL season and first with the Rams. Jackson was selected 49th overall by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2008 and soon became known for his highlight-reel speed and jaw-dropping skills as a deep threat and punt returner.

Jackson played for the Eagles from 2008 through 2013 and made the Pro Bowl three times while racking up at least 1,000 receiving yards three times as well. He set career-highs in receptions (82) and receiving yards (1,332) in 2013, while tying his career-high mark of nine receiving touchdowns that year as well.

The Long Beach, Calif., native spent the next three seasons with the then-Washington Redskins and went over 1,000 yards through the air in 2014 and 2016. Jackson was with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2017 and 2018, returned to play for Philadelphia in 2019 and 2020, and signed a one-year, $4.5 million deal with the Rams in the most recent offseason.

In seven games this year, Jackson has recorded just eight catches for 221 yards and one touchdown on 15 targets, while battling for targets with the likes of Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods and Van Jefferson.
