Duane Brown wants a new deal, and he’s getting tired of waiting. The offensive tackle says he won’t practice until he has an extension in hand, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com.

Brown, like star safety Jamal Adams, has one year to go on his current contract. The star tackle is set to make $10M this season — a bargain considering his performance. His $11.5M-per-year average ranks 16th among left tackles. Meanwhile, Pro Football Focus tabbed him as the league’s fifth-best tackle last season. In the interest of equal time — none of the tackles ahead of Brown on the salary list are older than he is.

Although Brown will turn 36 on August 30, head coach Pete Carroll has said that he’s open to keeping him beyond 2021.

“He’s a big part of what we’re doing and we’re counting on him being with us. We’ll look down the road together and we’ll see what’s the right thing to do,’’ Carroll said earlier this summer, per Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio KJR (h/t PFT's Charean Williams). “We would love for him to be with us. If he wants to keep playing, we want him to keep playing.”

The Seahawks gave up a first-round pick to acquire Brown from the Texans in 2017. Ever since, PFF has slotted Brown as a top-25 tackle in each of his four Seahawks slates. He also added a Pro Bowl nod, giving him four for his career.
