Report: Several teams interested in trading for Eagles TE Zach Ertz

Many believed Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz would be moved this offseason. That appears to still be the case with the start of the new league year right around the corner.

According to NFL Network's Michael Silver, several teams have called the Eagles about the possibility of trading for Ertz and a deal could happen in the coming days. It's unclear which teams have shown interest.

The Eagles are projected to be over the 2021 salary cap and trading Ertz would save Philadelphia just under $5 million, per Over The Cap. The veteran carries a base salary of $8.25 million next season while carrying a cap hit of $12.5 million and a dead cap value of $7.8 million.

With the Eagles tight on cap space, Ertz's likely departure doesn't come as a surprise. Philadelphia has Dallas Goedert at the position and he had a better 2020 campaign than Ertz.

The Eagles will look very different next season with the departures of Ertz, DeSean Jackson, Carson Wentz and Doug Pederson. The only question is, will they look better or worse?
