The Pittsburgh Steelers have seemingly fallen in love with Ohio State tackle Dawand Jones, at least on the surface. But according to Pro Football Network's Tony Pauline, the team isn't as high on him these days.

During an appearance on Steelers Sanctuary Podcast, Pauline said the team wasn't happy that Jones didn't work out or measure at Ohio State's Pro Day. According to Pauline, Jones is sliding down draft boards around the league.

"Dawand Jones is falling down draft boards. I think he'd be good value for them in round two, if Dawand Jones is making football a priority," Pauline said. "Dawand Jones had a decent, not spectacular career at Ohio State. He had one phenomenal day of practice at the Senior Bowl but then he packed it in. Didn't practice the next two days. Didn't play in the game. Went to the Combine, ran the forty, did position drills.

"I was at the Ohio State Pro Day with Mike Tomlin and those guys, and they were very p----d off because Dawand Jones did nothing at his Pro Day."

Jones met with the Steelers at the Senior Bowl, NFL Combine and had a Pre-Draft visit with them. They also took him and other linemen out to dinner at his Pro Day.

Jones was teetering on the verge of Pittsburgh's first-round pick at 17, but not working at his Pro Day could push him out of consideration. If he's there at 32, the Steelers will likely still be interested.
