Some tough news came out of the Houston Texans facility this week as second-year cornerback Derek Stingley was hurt.

According to Texans reporter Aaron Wilson, Stingley suffered a hamstring injury that could place him on Injured Reserve (IR), where he would have to miss a minimum of four games. Here was that report:

“Derek Stingley Jr. injured his hamstring during practice Wednesday and could miss several games after undergoing a magnetic resonance imaging exam that determined the severity of the damage, according to league sources.

“Stingley is now a strong candidate to be placed on injured reserve, per sources. Under NFL rules, Stingley would miss a minimum of four games before he can return to the active roster.”
