Houston Texans left guard Kendrick Green was diagnosed with a torn meniscus and is expected to be sidelined indefinitely, ESPN reported Tuesday.

Green injured his right knee in Sunday's 30-6 win over the visiting Pittsburgh Steelers, which helped Houston improve to 2-2.

The Texans acquired Green from the Steelers for a 2025 sixth-round pick after Houston's starting left guard, 2022 first-round pick Kenyon Green, suffered a season-ending shoulder injury during the preseason.

Kendrick Green was the Steelers' starting center for 15 games as a rookie in 2021. The 24-year-old was a third-round draft pick out of Illinois.

The Texans were already dealing with the injury-related absence of starting left tackle Laremy Tunsil. Josh Jones was filling in at left guard for Kenyon Green before Tunsil's injury required Jones to slide over to tackle.
