Report: Tom Brady in talks to be subject of Netflix celebrity roast

After spending two decades roasting NFL defenses, Tom Brady is ready to finally get roasted himself.

The future Hall of Fame quarterback is reportedly in talks with Netflix to be the subject of a celebrity roast that, according to TMZ Sports, has a working title of "The Greatest Roast of All Time."

That report comes after rumors surfaced that Brady was delaying his start with Fox Sports to pursue a career in stand-up comedy, a rumor that seemed so absurd that it almost had to be bogus.

A celebrity roast, however, makes a lot more sense and is a lot more reasonable to believe. It would not only be a one-time event that would probably draw a massive audience, but Brady would not have to be the person responsible for all of the jokes.

In recent years Brady has shown quite a bit of personality and even developed a strong usage of memes on social media, but there is a world of difference between posting funny memes on Twitter and Instagram and being able to hold an audiences attention as a stand-up comedian.

Brady retired from the NFL for good following the 2022 season and has already signed on with Fox Sports to be their top game analyst starting with the 2024 season. His contract with Fox Sports is reportedly for 10 years and worth around $375 million. It is a huge investment in a person that has never worked in broadcast media. But Fox clearly feels there is a lot of value in having the greatest quarterback of all time analyzing games for its network.
