Report: Urban Meyer eyeing Raheem Morris for Jaguars defensive coordinator

Urban Meyer finally accepted the Jacksonville Jaguars' head-coaching position. He's now trying to identify coaches he'd like to bring in to join his staff.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Meyer has contacted former Atlanta Falcons interim head coach Raheem Morris about becoming Jacksonville's defensive coordinator. Morris is still sifting through his opportunities.

Morris interviewed for the Jaguars' head-coaching job last week. He was also on the Falcons' radar after taking over for Dan Quinn, who was fired in October. However, Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Arthur Smith was the Falcons' No. 1 choice.

Morris had been with the Falcons since 2015 and was head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2009-11, finishing with a 17-31 record.

As for offensive coordinator, it appears Meyer would like former Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Scott Linehan to be Jacksonville's next OC.
