Report: Veteran OT Nate Solder, Giants agree to reworked deal

It was reported last month that the New York Giants were going to approach veteran tackle Nate Solder about restructuring his contract. It now appears the two sides have reached an agreement.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Giants and Solder have agreed to a reworked deal ahead of the 2021 campaign.

The terms of the deal have not been reported. However, he likely agreed to a deal worth less than the $16.5 million salary-cap number he would've had next season.

Solder wrote in a blog post earlier this week that he would "probably play in 2021" if given the opportunity. So, it certainly seems like he had no issue with taking less money after opting out of the 2020 campaign due to COVID-19 concerns.

If he didn't agree to a restructured deal, the 32-year-old probably would have been released.
