Denver Broncos cornerback Patrick Surtain II and wide receiver Jerry Jeudy are considered day-to-day after sustaining injuries during the team's Week 2 win over the Houston Texans, NFL Network and The Athletic reported Monday.

Jeudy hit the ground hard during the first quarter of Sunday's 16-9 win, injuring his ribs during a double-pass trick play. Surtain left during the second quarter with a shoulder injury.

The news means Denver's No. 1 corner and one of its starting receivers still could be back in time for Week 3, when the Broncos host the San Francisco 49ers.

Surtain is coming off a strong rookie year after being selected ninth overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. He had four interceptions, one returned for a touchdown, and broke up 14 passes.

Jeudy missed seven games last year with injuries and finished his sophomore NFL season with 38 receptions for 467 yards and no touchdowns. The 2020 first-rounder has five catches for 113 and a touchdown so far this season.
