Reports: Browns to sign kicker Cody Parkey to main roster

Following a blowout 38-6 loss at division rivals the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, the Cleveland Browns are moving on to a different placekicker for Thursday's home opener versus state foes the Cincinnati Bengals.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network was first to report that the Browns are signing 28-year-old Cody Parkey to the main roster. Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com added that the Browns moved on from Austin Seibert after his nightmare showing in Baltimore:

Seibert failed to convert the extra point following Cleveland's lone touchdown of the contest, and he also missed a 41-yard field goal with 46 seconds remaining in the first half. Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson subsequently led the Ravens down the field for a 69-yard touchdown drive that pushed the hosts ahead 24-6 at halftime.

Parkey kicked for the Browns during the 2016 campaign, and he's made 102 of 121 field goals since he entered the league in 2014. Parkey joined Cleveland's practice squad after training camp.
