The Los Angeles Rams amassed a grand total of 41 sacks this past season, which ranked in the bottom third of the NFL.

As a result, the Rams may utilize their rather expansive cap room to sign a pass rusher this offseason, and Bleacher Report’s NFL Scouting Department would like to see them pursue a reunion with Leonard Floyd.

Floyd spent three seasons in Los Angeles between 2020 and 2022, enjoying the most productive run of his career to date.

The 31-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Georgia, was originally selected by the Chicago Bears with the ninth overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft.

He enjoyed a solid rookie campaign, registering 33 tackles, seven sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a defensive touchdown, but after that, Floyd’s production in Chicago stagnated, as he never logged more than 4.5 sacks again for the rest of his Bears tenure.

Floyd proceeded to sign with the Rams in 2020, and that year, he broke out, racking up 55 tackles, 10.5 sacks, a forced fumble and a couple of fumble recoveries.

He would then post very similar numbers in 2021, finishing with 70 tackles, 9.5 sacks, an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery en route to helping Los Angeles in a Super Bowl.

During his final season in LA, Floyd recorded 59 tackles, nine sacks and a fumble recovery.

The Atlanta native ended up inking a one-year deal with the Buffalo Bills last June, and in what will likely end up being his lone season with the Bills, Floyd tallied 32 tackles, 10.5 sacks and a forced fumble.

While Floyd has never made a Pro Bowl or earned an All-Pro selection, he has quietly been one of the league’s most consistent pass rushers of the last several years and would certainly be a welcome addition to a Rams’ pass rush that could absolutely use his return.
