Rich Eisen suggests this city should regularly host the NFL Draft

There’s no question the 2019 NFL Draft in Nashville, Tennessee was one of the most successful events the league has ever put on.

In fact, the experience was so impactful that NFL Network’s Rich Eisen admitted during an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Thursday that the NFL should make Nashville a semi-regular host of the event.

“My favorite city (for the) draft was Nashville,” Eisen said. “That was unbelievable. Nashville should get this event once every three (years). It should be like in a rotation with the Super Bowl. That was nuts, and that was a hell of a spot. That’s my favorite draft setup and city, other than me being a native New Yorker and doing it in Radio City Music Hall for all those years.”

Per the NFL Communications department, the 2019 draft was the second-most watched draft in league history with 6.2 million viewers, trailing only the virtual draft during the pandemic in 2020, which drew 8.3 million viewers.

The 600,000 reported fans that packed downtown Nashville also set a record for the highest draft attendance in NFL history. The previous record had been 250,000 during the 2017 draft in Philadelphia.

The 2024 draft will be held in Detroit, Michigan, April 25 through 27. A location for the 2025 draft hasn’t been chosen yet. Green Bay has reportedly made a pitch to host in either 2025 or 2027. If it’s not 2025, Nashville could be a strong possibility.
