Rob Gronkowski reportedly considered offer from Bills before re-signing with Bucs

Rob Gronkowski is officially returning to the Buccaneers this season, having signed a one-year deal with Tampa Bay that could be worth up to $10 million.

But according to NFL Network's Michael Silver, Gronk's return to the Bucs was not a guarantee, as he considered a similar offer that was made by the Buffalo Bills. Despite spending much of his career winning Super Bowls for the Patriots, Gronk was born and raised around Buffalo and the Bills are his "hometown team."

From a football perspective, the Bills adding Gronk is a fascinating idea, as they already had one of the most loaded offenses in the league last season and could certainly use an upgrade at tight end over Dawson Knox and Tyler Kroft. Gronk would immediately be the most talented tight end quarterback Josh Allen ever had during his NFL career.

However, in the end, Gronk simply could not resist running it back in Tampa Bay, as he just helped the Bucs win a Super Bowl, catching two touchdowns in the win over the Kansas City Chiefs. And with Tom Brady set to play at least two more years, Gronk and the Bucs could be heading towards a few more Super Bowls over the next few years.
