Rob Gronkowski shares opinion on NFL's Taylor Swift coverage
Retired tight end Rob Gronkowski thinks that the NFL needs to take it down a notch with the ongoing coverage of superstar singer-songwriter Taylor Swift.
The future Hall of Famer appeared on the "Up and Adams" podcast Wednesday and took the opposite viewpoint of host Kay Adams. Gronkowski said he doesn't mind when a broadcast shows the 12-time Grammy Award winner once in a while but added that it's been a bit too much in recent weeks.
Swift first nearly broke the internet with her September appearance at Arrowhead Stadium during the Kansas City Chiefs' Week 3 contest against the Chicago Bears. Swift was spotted sitting in a stadium suite with Donna Kelce (the mother of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce).
After Kansas City blew out Chicago, the pair of celebrities were seen leaving the stadium together, essentially confirming that they were romantically involved.
According to a report by the New York Post, NBC cameras flashed to Swift in the suite at MetLife Stadium 17 times when she attended the Chiefs' Week 4 win over the New York Jets on "Sunday Night Football." She wasn't at Kansas City's Week 5 road contest against the Minnesota Vikings but returned to Arrowhead for the last two games.
The Chiefs hosted the Denver Broncos on "Thursday Night Football" in Week 6 and welcomed the Los Angeles Chargers to town in Week 7 last Sunday. Kansas City has won six in a row since dropping its season opener against the Detroit Lions.
The NFL made headlines in early October when it changed its banner photo on X, formerly known as Twitter, to three images of Swift cheering during the "SNF" game. The league also changed its bio on X to read "We had the best day with you today."
The NFL faced backlash after it briefly changed the bio on its Instagram account to "Chiefs are 2-0 as swifties," before deciding to remove the words.
