Robert Hainsey: Buccaneers 'love' that Tom Brady screamed at teammates during loss

Tampa Bay Buccaneers center Robert Hainsey insists there's no controversy inside the locker room related to quarterback Tom Brady screaming at his offensive linemen during this past Sunday's loss at the Pittsburgh Steelers.

"Everyone can call it what they want, but I want nothing else from a quarterback than that — than the guy who's wanting to tell us what we need to do and step up," Hainsey explained about the situation Wednesday, per Jenna Laine of ESPN. "If he was just sitting over there and not get us going and not try to help us — he wouldn't be who he is today.

"I love that from him. I know we all love that from him. It might look weird on TV, but that's football. That's what you want from great teammates and great leaders, and he's the best there is."

The Joe Bucs Fan website previously noted Brady yelled at offensive linemen on multiple occasions during the 20-18 defeat in Pittsburgh that dropped the Buccaneers to 3-3 on the season. After the game, retired one-time Pro Bowl running back Thomas Jones was among those who said incidents similar to what occurred at Acrisure Stadium happen "all the time" due to the emotional nature of the sport.

"I love learning from him," Hainsey added about the seven-time Super Bowl champion signal-caller. "He's got so much knowledge of the game so any time I can pick his brain and kind of figure out what he wants and how he sees things, it's a really cool opportunity for me. I enjoy that a lot."

Others, however, have suggested Brady's antics were less of a one-off and more so just another sign that he's having second thoughts about finishing the 2022 NFL season as an active player.

For now, Brady is on track to start when the Buccaneers play at the 1-5 Carolina Panthers this Sunday.
