The Philadelphia Eagles hit the jackpot when they signed former New York Jets pass rusher Bryce Huff at the start of NFL free agency.

Meanwhile, the Jets are stuck looking to fill his void.

And according to head coach Robert Saleh, that's not going to be easy.

Saleh took a few minutes at the NFL's annual league meetings on Monday to compliment Huff's game, comparing him to the greatest relief pitcher in MLB of all time.

“Elite, elite pass rusher. Closes games,” Saleh said via 94WIP's Eliott Shorr-Parks.

"People want to say all he does is rush the passer. All Mariano Rivera did was close ninth innings. He’s a pretty darn good pass rusher and he’s going to be great for Philadelphia.”

The Eagles signed Huff to a three-year, $51.1 million deal with $34 million guaranteed, which made him the highest-paid non-QB undrafted free agent in NFL history.

Huff initially joined the Jets as an undrafted free agent following the 2020 draft. They used him as a rotational pass-rushing piece before locking in a starting role in 2023.

As a true starter, Huff proved doubters wrong and led the Jets' defense with 10 sacks, a pass breakup, 29 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and 21 QB hits through 17 games last season.

While he'll be missed in New York, he will be a great addition to the Eagles' lackluster pass rush.

“It’s always disappointing when you lose good players,” Saleh said. “You can’t keep them all.”
