The Las Vegas Raiders are continuing their preparations for their week 11 matchup against the Miami Dolphins this Sunday in sunny and humid Hard Rock Stadium.

One defensive player on the Raiders defense got honorable recognition this week for being one of the best out of every defensive position.

Raiders linebacker Robert Spillane was named this week's AFC Defensive Player of the Week after having a phenomenal performance last Sunday against the New York Jets on prime time Sunday Night Football.

Spillane finished the game with seven total tackles, one tackle for loss, one pass deflection, and a game-winning interception that ultimately led to the Raiders getting their second straight win and becoming .500 for the second straight time this season.

Spillane is right now currently tied for the league-led in interceptions with a total of three. He also leads the Raiders defense with a total of 81 tackles.

So far in his first season with the Silver and Black Spillane has 81 total tackles, 43 of them being solo with two and a half sacks and three interceptions.

Raiders interim head coach Antonio Pierce had the chance to speak to the media on Spillane and what he truly brings to the Silver and Black defense.

"[Y]ou have your superstars in the Maxx Crosby's of the world, but then you have that lunch pail guy and this guy just loves ball, man."

"You can see it on his face. You can see the energy and excitement he brings to our team and just again, when we talk about the will to win and just being gritty."

This Sunday will be Spillane's second time in his career he will go head-to-head against the Dolphins. He played against the Dolphins last season with the Steelers, finishing the game with three assisted tackles.

Be on the watch this Sunday for Spillane as he looks to continue to be a key factor on the Raiders' defense against the Dolphins in Hard Rock Stadium.

The Silver and Black will head out on the road to South Beach to take on the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, Nov. 19, at 1 p.m. EST/10 a.m. PST.
