Romeo Doubs is emerging as a target for Aaron Rodgers

The Packers might have themselves an emerging playmaker who does not have the last name Lazard, Watkins, Cobb or even Watson. Fourth-round pick Romeo Doubs, a star at Nevada, has played well in camp.

Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst selected him with 132nd overall pick in April's draft. He might be a steal. Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has spoken highly of Doubs.

"Every single day, there's been at least one 'wow' play from him," he said, according to the Associated Press. "That's kind of rare for a young guy like that. Now, we've had some guys over the years do that, but they're all in the top 10 in Packers receiving history."

One of the "wow" plays Doubs made earlier this week was beating talented second-year cornerback Eric Stokes on a deep route. For context, Stokes has 4.2 speed (40-yard dash), but Doubs was able to shake him and fly past him.

Gutekunst spoke on what makes Doubs a productive player: "He was a very productive college player, a guy who can win a multitude of ways... He's really attacked it," he said, according to the State Journal. "Coach LaFleur) has talked about his preparation habits, and that's allowed him to take advantage of these opportunities."

Doubs came to Green Bay with an impressive college portfolio. He recorded more than 2,100 yards receiving and caught 20 touchdown passes in his final two seasons at Nevada. Doubs could play a meaningful role in 2022.
