Russell Wilson unsure about trade availability, hopes to 'play in Seattle forever'

Is Russell Wilson on the trading block? It's a rumor that has floated around certain corners of the internet, most likely in response to the increasingly crowded quarterback carousel that is shaping up this offseason. While the rumor itself seems almost entirely unfounded, that did not stop the quarterback from addressing trade rumors in a recent interview on "The Dan Patrick Show."

"I'm not sure if I'm available or not," Wilson said. "That's a Seahawks question."

It may seem like Wilson is stirring the pot, but he did say that he hoped to "play in Seattle forever" so it does not sound like the Seahawks need to worry about their franchise quarterback demanding a trade or threatening to hold out. Perhaps Wilson has just taken a page out of Aaron Rodgers' book and does not want to comment definitely on anything that is out of his control.

Even with Wilson insisting he does want to stay with the Seahawks, there does seem to be some frustration between the 32-year-old and the team. CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reported that "Wilson’s camp has grown increasingly frustrated by the Seahawks' inability to protect the eight-time Pro Bowler." Through nine seasons, Wilson has been sacked almost 400 times.

Wilson's mounting irritation seems to have inspired him to want to be more involved in roster-building and team decisions moving forward.

"I want to be involved," Wilson said. "At the end of the day, it's your legacy, your team's legacy. ... It helps to be involved more. That dialogue should happen more often."
