Ryan Fitzpatrick says he is retired for good, even if team comes calling

There will be no more "Fitzmagic" in the NFL.

Longtime quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick wants you to know that his playing days are officially over, and there is nothing that is going to get him back on the field. Not even a desperate team calling him mid-season in need of a quarterback.

Fitzpatrick told TMZ sports this week that is official and that he is "done" with his playing days and is focused on his post-playing career as a TV analyst on Amazon's "Thursday Night Football" broadcasts.

"I don't know if my hip would be willing to and I'm comfortable what I'm doing right now," Fitzpatrick told TMZ.

Fitzpatrick played in one game a year ago for the Washington Football team, attempting only six passes before calling it a career.

He played for nine different teams during his 16-year career, appearing in games for the Rams, Cincinnati Bengals, Buffalo Bills, Tennessee Titans, Houston Texans, New York Jets, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Miami Dolphins and Washington.

A seventh-round pick in 2005 out of Harvard, Fitzpatrick put some surprisingly big numbers together during his career, throwing for 34,990 yards, 223 touchdowns, and completing 60.7 percent of his passes.

He finishes his career ranking among the top-35 quarterbacks all-time in both passing yards and touchdowns.

As far as seventh-round quarterbacks go, that is about as strong of a career as can reasonably be expected.
