'Safe bet' Giants' Barkley, Golladay, Toney don't play vs. Panthers

The New York Giants sit at 1-5, seem guaranteed to be sellers ahead of the Nov. 2 trade deadline, and have more questions than answers as it pertains to their quarterback, head coach, and front office.

The hits for Big Blue keep on coming.

The Athletic's Dan Duggan reports it's a "safe bet" that star running back Saquon Barkley (ankle), along with wide receivers Kenny Golladay (knee) and rookie Kadarius Toney (ankle), will all be ruled out to face the 3-3 Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

Duggan's update is hardly surprising, as the trio missed practice throughout the midweek after it was learned that starting left tackle Andrew Thomas was placed on injured reserve because of an ankle issue. Thomas must sit out a minimum of three games, per NFL rules.

Giants head coach Joe Judge was able to offer some good news a day after he accepted blame for the team's latest woes:

Quarterback Daniel Jones, who has already suffered a concussion this fall, could use any and all weapons available to him and will be hoping Engram, Shepard, and Slayton can take the field Sunday afternoon at MetLife Stadium a week after angry fans repeatedly booed the home team during a 38-11 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
