Saints activate Alvin Kamara, Michael Thomas for playoff game vs. Bears
The New Orleans Saints will have two of their biggest playmakers active for Sunday's wild-card round matchup against the Chicago Bears.
New Orleans activated running back Alvin Kamara and wide receiver Michael Thomas on Saturday, the team announced.
Kamara was activated off the reserve/COVID list after missing the Saints' regular-season finale due to a positive coronavirus test. Thomas was activated off injured reserve after missing three games with an ankle injury.
In 15 games this season, Kamara rushed for a career-high 932 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also had 83 receptions for 756 yards and five touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Thomas had 40 receptions for 438 yards and no touchdowns in seven games. The reigning Offensive Player of the Year had been dealing with ankle issues throughout the entire season.
Wide receiver and kick returner Deonte Harris and cornerback Patrick Robinson were also activated from injured reserve. Wide receiver Lil'Jordan Humphrey and linebacker Chase Hansen were called up from the practice squad.
