New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara was among the NFL stars who competed in Sunday’s Pro Bowl in Las Vegas. He will not be joining the other stars in leaving town any time soon.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department released a statement Sunday evening, mere hours after the game at Allegiant Stadium, indicating that Kamara was arrested on the Vegas Strip on charges of battery resulting in substantial bodily harm.

“On February 5, 2022, at approximately 5:50 p.m., LVMPD patrol officers were dispatched to a local hospital where a person was reporting a battery. The victim reported being battered at a nightclub located in the 3500 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard,” the release read. “The investigation by LVMPD Detectives determined the victim was battered by the suspect, later identified as Alvin Kamara. He was located and taken into custody without incident on February 6, 2022. Kamara was transported to the Clark County Detention Center where he was booked on battery resulting in substantial bodily harm.”

As you can see, the alleged incident took place in a nightclub on the Vegas strip Saturday evening. The incident report indicates that it happened at Drai’s Nightclub at the Cromwell.

Authorities are asking for anyone with information on the incident in question to contact the patrol detectives assigned to the case.

Kamara latest incident for NFL player in Las Vegas

The NFL has attempted to showcase Vegas as its next great super city. In fact, the 2022 NFL Draft is slated to take place in Sin City this coming spring.

Unfortunately, there have been several incidents surrounding Raiders players since they relocated to Las Vegas ahead of the 2021 season.

Former first-round pick Henry Ruggs was arrested in November and charged with driving under the influence resulting in death in an incident that killed 23-year-old Tina Tintor. Fellow former Raiders first-round pick Damon Arnette was also released by the team in-season after multiple Vegas-based incidents.

As for the arrest of Kamara, we’ll have further information when it becomes available. For now, he’s being held on $5,000 bail.
