He has a big frame which allows him to make contested catches. Once the new regime of Josh McDaniels arrived, Edwards was traded to the Falcons after an injury in training camp slowed his production. The Saints are hoping that he can reconnect with Carr in New Orleans and produce some similar numbers.
Rounding Out The Offense
The Saints offense already has some good pieces. Chris Olave had a great rookie season and looks to build on that success. Alvin Kamara can still be one of the most dynamic backs in the league. Carr, while he has his faults, is a top-half-of-the-league quarterback. A signing like Edwards is one that can hopefully move the needle enough to give the offense a little more punch. The NFC South is a wide-open race now that Tom Brady has retired. New Orleans is hoping to compete for the division title and make it back to the playoffs.
