Saints Swiss army knife joins Hall of Fame list

Taysom Hill probably won't be enshrined in Canton once his career is all said and done, but the New Orleans Saints jack-of-all-trades became part of a Hall of Fame class in Week 9 against the Chicago Bears.

In the Saints 24-17 win over the Bears on Sunday, Hill secured his 10th career touchdown reception. Per Stathead, Hill is only the sixth player in NFL history to have at least 10 passing, receiving and rushing touchdowns in their career.

Hill joins Bob Hoernschemeyer, George Taliaferro and Hall of Famers Frank Gifford, Charley Trippi and Red Grange.

Hill earned his spot on the historic list on a two-yard touchdown grab from Saints quarterback Derek Carr with 6:05 left in the second quarter, at the time, tying the score 14-14.

After displaying his pass-catching skills, Hill showed off his arm in the second half. Early in the fourth quarter, with the two teams knotted at 17-17, Hill fired a three-yard touchdown pass to tight end Juwan Johnson, which put the Saints ahead for good.

Aside from his TD connection with Johnson, Hill did not attempt another pass on Sunday. However, he was heavily involved in the Saints offense otherwise.

The 33-year-old led the Saints in carries (11) and rushing yards (52) while catching four of five targets for 13 yards through the air.

Hill's numbers rarely wow, but the versatility he offers is invaluable to the Saints, who continue to find exciting ways to use him. Through nine games, Hill has 255 rushing yards (49 attempts), caught 20 of 25 targets for 142 receiving yards and completed five of six passes for 72 yards with four total touchdowns.
