Wide receiver Jarvis Landry has a lot to prove after signing a one-year deal with the New Orleans Saints.

First, he must show the team that he’s worth the investment.

Likewise, he must keep naysayers quiet by having a bounce-back season.

Finally, he would like to prove the Cleveland Browns wrong for releasing him.

In reality, Landry’s performance has been falling over the last three seasons.

But playing for his hometown squad might rejuvenate his career.

The Saints official Twitter account posted the words “Home grown” after sharing Landry’s football highlights courtesy of The Checkdown.

Landry was born on November 28, 1992 in Convent, Louisiana and attended high school at Lutcher.

Coming out of high school, he was regarded as a five-star recruit which meant that elite college football programs had an eye on him.

Eventually, he chose to stay by playing for the LSU Tigers.

In his final year at Baton Rouge, Landry had 1,193 yards and ten touchdowns.

After being selected by the Miami Dolphins in the 2014 NFL Draft, Landry landed in Cleveland before joining the Saints.

Will Landry Be A Boom Or A Bust For New Orleans?

The 29-year-old wideout will be joining a squad that averaged a league-worst 187.4 passing yards per game last season.

All-Pro wide receiver Michael Thomas didn’t play due to injury, leaving Marquez Callaway and Tre’Quan Smith as their top receivers.

But Thomas will be seeing action after getting surgery on his injury.

The Saints also drafted Chris Olave in the first round of the 2022 draft.

Having those two players should give Landry favorable match-ups.

He must exploit those coverages to rack up yards and touchdown catches.

If everything goes well, the Saints’ receiving corps could be a menace to opposing teams.
