Sammy Watkins phone home? Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY Sports

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Sammy Watkins has long been viewed as something of an eccentric individual, and a completely off-the-rails profile recently written by Tyler Dunne of Bleacher Report is about to take that perception to an entirely new level.

Watkins was beyond candid and shared a lot about his personal life for the extensive piece, including his youth, battles with mental health issues and evolving philosophies about life and the metaphysical world.

It’s difficult to summarize in brief the amount of mind-blowing information Watkins shares about himself, but on the more out-of-sight side of things, the following tweets wrap up the highlights.

When laying out what he hopes to still accomplish in his NFL career, Watkins mentions enshrinement in the Pro Football Hall of Fame as one goal. It’s how he intends to ensure that happens, however, is the most interesting part, to say the least.

“I’m going to talk to the guardians of the galaxy, talk to the true aliens,” Watkins told Dunne, “and try to work it out.”

It goes without saying that Dunne’s profile of Watkins is well worth the read, for obvious reasons.
