The San Francisco 49ers elevated two for the Wild Card round

The San Francisco 49ers made two roster decisions before their Wild Card game Saturday. The 49ers will play their divisional rival, the Seattle Seahawks, in an afternoon game Saturday. Battling several injuries in the secondary in the late season it looks like the 49ers will be turning to a former All-Pro cornerback for help against the Seahawks.

According to Aaron Wilson with KPRC, the San Francisco elevated running back Tevin Coleman and cornerback Janoris Jenkins.

Jenkins is a savvy veteran who’s been in the league since 2012. He earned second-team All-Pro honors for his efforts in the 2016 season with the New York Giants. Jenkins was signed to the 49ers practice squad on Nov. 28th. According to the 49ers’ statement on Jenkins’ signing, he has five games of experience in the playoffs:

Jenkins has also appeared in five postseason games where he added 20 tackles, two passes defensed, one forced fumble and 0.5 sack.

Jenkins has played two games for the 49ers this season. He has three tackles in his 31 defensive snaps. He also played 27 snaps on special teams.
