The San Francisco 49ers have a tough task of breaking through the Detroit Lions offensive line. Fortunately, they have a Nick Bosa ready to give the opposing O-line problems from the edge.

The star defensive end is a reliable anchor for the elite 49ers defense, and they will need him to step up against a Lions team that has broken all expectations this season. They will need him to work his magic if they want to make the Super Bowl.

Nick Bosa is the San Francisco 49ers’ playoff sack leader

Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle shared a stat line that would provide a slight encouragement to the Niners Faithful despite their team’s lackluster first-half performance against the Lions.

Bosa has been nothing but fantastic for the 49ers ever since he was selected with the second overall pick of the 2019 NFL Draft. Offensive coordinators always have to plan for him whenever they have to face he Niners, and his elite speed and power make it easy to see why he always gets the attention of opposing coaches.

Bosa sacks Jared Goff in NFC Championship game

His performance against the Lions makes it easy to understand why he’s considered as one of the elite pass rushers in the National Football League.

The Niners shared one of their few defensive highlights in the game’s first half. It was early in the second quarter, and Penei Sewell lined up against the athletic pass rusher.

However, he didn’t follow the man and focused on containing the other pass rusher. This allowed Bosa to rush towards Lions QB Jared Goff and send him to the ground for a sack.

This was one of the few moments Niners fans at Levi’s Stadium were able to cheer as their team ended the first half with a shocking 24-7. They would need both their offense and defense to step up if they were going to mount any sort of comeback.
