Seahawks 'absolutely pursuing' Pro Bowler Jamal Adams

The New York Jets have made it known that they have no intention of trading Pro Bowler Jamal Adams, but that's not stopping one team from trying to acquire him.

Adams has made his intention of leaving New York quite clear. The safety has requested a trade and even listed eight teams that he'd like to be traded to, though the Dallas Cowboys are at the top of his list.

While the Cowboys do have interest in him, the Seattle Seahawks, who are on Adams' list, also are expected to pursue the 24-year-old.

“I actually had a conversation with a friend of mine who works in a front office on the other side of the country for an NFL team, and we were talking and he actually said, ‘So your Seahawks are really into Jamal Adams,'” former NFL quarterback Jake Heaps said Thursday on 710 ESPN Seattle's "Tom, Jake and Stacy,"

“He said, yeah, the Seahawks are absolutely pursuing Jamal Adams. … I think that trade conversations are heating up around Jamal Adams and that the Seahawks in particular are one of those teams that are continuing to pursue Jamal Adams.”

Adams is entering the final year of his rookie deal as the Jets picked up his fifth-year option, so the organization feels no pressure to trade him. If the Seahawks truly want Adams, they'll have to make New York an offer they can't refuse.

If they're able to acquire Adams, the Seahawks will be among top Super Bowl favorites heading into the 2020 campaign.
