The Seattle Seahawks have been looking for depth at cornerback over the past several months. Just recently, they picked up John Reid in a trade with the Houston Texans.

General manager John Schneider and Co. are now hitting up the trade market for more depth. The Jacksonville Jaguars announced on Monday that they have dealt veteran corner Sidney Jones to the Pacific Northwest.

The Jaguars will receive a 2022 six-round pick in return.

Jones, 25, was a second-round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles back in 2017 after a standout career with the Washington Huskies.

Unfortunately, injuries follow Jones back to his roots. He’s appeared in a total of 31 games over four seasons. During that span, the corner has tallied 76 tackles, 19 passes defended and two interceptions.

According to Pro Football Focus, Jones yielded a 96.4 passer rating when targeted with the Jaguars last season.

As for the Seahawks, they have major question marks in the defensive secondary heading into their Week 1 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. Free-agent signing Ahkello Witherspoon is slated to start next to Tre Flowers. Outside of that, there’s a ton of issues when it comes to depth. That includes rookie fourth-round pick Tre Brown being sidelined with a knee injury.
